Good soil verses rocky ground

Hi friends – The next few verses of scripture I want to highlight talks about rocky ground. When you hear God’s word something inside of you changes. The word of God is life giving and provides each of us with the opportunity to experience God’s plan for our lives. Just like a special gift it is important to take care of what we have received. Let’s review these scripture:

20 The seed falling on rocky ground refers to someone who hears the word and at once receives it with joy. 21 But since they have no root, they last only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly fall away.

I remember hearing God’s word for the time at my church. As an adult, it was life-changing for me. I got connected and stayed connected at church through Bible studies, people who invested in me and other church activities. I make sure I was protecting what God had placed in my heart. Sometimes when we are new to our faith, people will put doubt in our minds about exploring faith in Jesus or question our decision. This scripture is encouraging you to stay connected to Jesus, pray and guard your heart with what you have learned. You have heard God’s word for a reason. In the book of John 8:32 it says that you will learn the truth and the truth will set you free. There is good soil in your heart for God’s word to be rooted. Don’t let anyone take away this beautiful gift that God has for you.

Until next time my friend remember you are known and loved by God. Blessings!
